Laura has done a great job keeping up our blog. It is now my turn to keep the update. She has her arms full at the moment.
We were able to bring Lizzy home from the hospital yesterday after Mom flew in from Romania. Let me just paint the picture of where we are at right now. It is now 6:45 AM and we are feeding once again. We have laughed through the night at our new schedule and life. We arrived home yesterday to feed at 9:00 PM and then chatted for a little while with Mom. We slept for an hour before waking up at 12:00 AM for the next feeding. I changed the diaper and then fed our little girl while Laura pumped. At 1:00 AM were were done and slept for another 2 hours just to wake up at 3:00 AM where once again, I changed the diaper, fed and burped while Laura pumped. Then we went to bed at 4:00 AM and woke up at 6:00 AM. Now I get to go to work and Laura gets to continue this schedule.
Believe me when I tell you that we are really enjoying this... for now. The novelty of the new changes and the beauty of our little girl keep us going.
Tonight will be a whole new experience. You see... Will comes home from the hospital today. Laura and I have no idea what is coming our way. We have wondered if this is going to add an hour to our schedule or just a couple more minutes. If you don't see a post for tomorrow... just pray for us!
Laura and I are excited and having fun with our new role as parents. Sure there is no more sleeping in on Saturday morning or any such thing as a straight 4 or even 3 hours of sleep. We are happy and are thankful for all the support that is given. We are excited for Will to come home and hopefully we can still get 2 hours of sleep!
It is now 7:00 AM and time to get ready to go to work and for Laura to gear up for her day. I forgot to mention, with everything going on last night, I forgot to pick up her pain medication. Having had both types of deliveries she is still in a bit of pain. I think the only reason she is still talking to me is because I need to feed and change those diapers!
Here we go!

oooh Scotty... I'm sure she's also talking to you because you need to clean too ;) Just think of the next few months as a trial run in a sleep deprivation clinic. I will keep judicious notes for you. GOOD Luck, you'll make it, and love it!
oh scott...what a good hubby you are. And what an amazing wife you have...I wouldn't talk to you if you forgot my pain medicine...shes a better woman that i am! haha :-) Good luck with the next few weeks of transitioning!
Good luck! We ended up doing everything back to back. If one was hungry...then the other one ate right afterward. If you can figure out how to get them on a schedule it will make your life a lot more manageable...Expect no sleep, and enjoy the ride!
sounds like fun to me! hopefully you two will be able to rest more in a couple of weeks or so :D
Congratulations on your beautiful babies, they grow so fast.
OH MAN! Pain, pain, pain, I can't imagine that without meds! Prayers for you all! Good luck!
Good luck! Where are you guys living these days anyway? I'm sure Sister Money will have some good tips for you :)
Ana Lee
Scott, welcome to fatherhood! I think Nate's brain has never been the same since we had Anabelle. Poor guy. Congratulations you two. I am so glad to detect an underlying sense of joy and humor in all your "adventures." That's the best way to do it. Tell Laura "you go girl!" for us. She's a trooper. All our love, the Lewis fam.
Crazy! I can't imagine. It gets better as they grow a little they sleep a little longer. Also you get faster at doing everything. It's a good thing they are so stinkin' cute or else you would quit!
Your babies are gorgeous! Enjoy them.. it goes so fast! Hope you guys are getting some rest!
Just take it one day - or 3 hour block - at a time. You guys will do great and figure out what works best for each little personality. One thing that was helpful to us was doing EVERYTHING in doubles - when one ate, the other ate, when one bum got changed, the other one did too. Running on so little sleep, we didn't have to try and remember who got what. It also helps to start working them into the same schedule, which saved our lives. You'll have such sweet and funny memories of this time. Enjoy each minute. :-)
The babies are so beautiful! Congratulations! I wish I was there to help out. You guys are amazing and will be the best parents.
Love,
Michelle
